I have a small converted basement bedroom with interior and exterior entries (used to be a one-car garage, many years ago). I've been in the house for 3 months. I mostly record my own projects and singer-songwriters, therefore I don't need a live room. I would love to be able to record drums from time to time, but I don't think that's gonna happen. I do need a vocal/guitar iso booth.
Some issues:
• The master bedroom is directly over the studio and there is little insulation (i.e., loud creaking floors anytime someone walks in the master).
• We plan on selling the house in 3 - 5 years, so I don't want to do anything too permanent.
• I am not much of a carpenter, nor are most of my friends particularly crafty.
• My budget is, of course, tiny.
The stats:
• 13'8" x 10'5"
• ceiling height = 7'3"
• closet (5'10" x 2' 1") can be removed
A very bad drawing is attached (bear with me, I'm on a Mac).
Thanks in advance to all the contributors on this great forum.

Need help with small (13x10) studio design

Here's the sketch:
I'd take the doors off the closet and build a freestanding unit that has a glass sliding pocket door in it. You can attach it to the front of the closet and you can use it as a booth.
I'd then build the other units free standing also.

Thanks so much, John!
I just found a friend of a friend who's a carpenter, so I might be able to pull this off!
Two more issues, though:
1. The ceiling is very poorly insulated and is quite low (7'3").
2. The floor is concrete and has to stay that way (no permanent floor covering can be installed; long story ). I'm planning on using area rugs, but was wondering if there are better solutions.
Thanks again. This forum has become indispensable.
