Hello all, what a great site! I am in the planning stages of a small studio to be used to record a variety of music. from acoustic and classical to rock (probably won't be recording any screaming metal, but who knows)
I have a small space to work with about 22' x 20' below is what I have put together as a starting point. the goal is to have a versatile studio with a control room that sounds excellent. I am considering floating the control room and then installing floating floors in the live room and vocal booth. the ceiling is a V shape and probably 15 ft at the highest point. My main questions are
1. should I bother putting the control room in the corner. it gives a nice central location, but acoustics wise is it worth it.
2. are there some "magic" angles that I should try to incorporate into the design. I used the 30 degree offset for monitors and 6 degree offset of the walls in the control room. are there others I should look for?
I also have some questions about acoustic treatment in the performance rooms but first things first. once I get the layout nailed down I can tackle that
any and all insights, suggestions, rants, and tips will be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance

here's a similar setup to yours that we discussed a while back. Note the angles of the walls :)
