Fire Stops in Soundproof Walls

yep............similar to the old BALLON CONSTRUCTION that allowed hidden smoke and fire to travel up through the walls straight into the attic. I have seen it happen(me being a fire fighter and all  will be a captain soon) Building codes have helped out big time. sheetrock, smoke detectors, and fire stops are very nice creations.
J, howzit going? You may also want to check out the REFERENCE section near the top of the Construction forum, I've added a few other links including a couple more fire related ones... Steve
The link has gone bad... I think this is the new location.

Thanks Keith... Steve
Can we get a helpful link of suppliers for what can be used as fireblock in the tops of walls? Just as a help to those new with searching for this stuff...
thanks.
I found my answer after doing more research - Roxul Safe® was recommended for this [frame to foundation for basement studio folks] by a rep at roxul. He sent me a data sheet on it which is also available here:

Just coming back to close the gap on this.
Thanks for the info.
