Getting close to putting up the walls now, electrical is run(atleast on my half of the garage) I know there is prolly quite a few threads on concrete flooring. Concrete being as dense as my skull i would assume that reflections would be mighty, are there any good characteristics of this dense stuff? Would it be more bright? Lively? I guess i don't know or remember from the garage days. Most of what i'll be doing is mic'd/direct recording with guitar and bass. I have no problem going with concrete, been thinking and planning about what to do with the walls and stuff. Gimme some input JoeW
Before we could advise you on what kind of floor you should do, we need to know more about what your intentions are - single room, 2-room studio, loud drums at 2am with crotchety neighbors, miles from any living thing, etc - an idea of budget wouldn't hurt either... Steve
Steve, Sorry about that, thought my old posts would come into play. Pretty much a single room. 10x17x9(angled ceiling at widest points). Like i said in the previous posts, single player. Guitar/Bass,maybe some synth later on. Recording system is a PC with M-Audio 2496 or the like and a cheap Behringer mixer (cheap to start). Budget wise, as cheap as possible to start. If you look at the garage from the front you have a 3 or 4 acre park to the left and my property against it, have a neighbour behind me. But her garage is in-line with mine but her house is further away. I am good on all fronts really. The garage is split into 2 10x17x9 with the studio on the back half further from the house. I built a double wall down the middle with a 3-4" gap in between for sound-proofing. I will be aquiring quite abit of of 3" rockwool to do the sound proofing, i don't plan on having jam sessions at first, just want to push the tubes abit more on my Fender Blues Jr. 15watt power house and just to have alittle more of a quiet space.
