Are the monitors too big for my control room?

Hi, I’m in the final stage of finishing my control room, it measures 3 meters wide x 5 meters length, and I’m going to soffit-mount my monitors, which I hope that would serve as midfield monitors, along with nearfields. The questions: - Is it too big for the room if I use monitors with 10” – 12” inch woofers, such as JBL 4410/4412 or Tannoy System 1000? - If it’s too big, then how about 2-way monitors with 8” woofers for the soffit mounted monitors? It would be the same size as my nearfields though. - Any recommendation of which type (size, powered/non-powered, etc) and brand should I choose for the soffit mounted monitors? I’m aiming at $400-500 price range, but if it’s necessary, I still can manage up to $800-$1000, but that’s the limit. Any suggestion are highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Ari
Those JBL's, atleast the 4412's do not play that low, and they are intended for near-field video editing/small control rooms. I think that they are pretty flabby myself. Go for the 4410's. They have a punchiness to them, and sound more balanced IMO. Go for it.
