Hey all, Here is an alternate studio design that I made up. It's a little bit wider than the last one (24' by 36' versus 20' by 36'), but it let me put in a restroom and a lounge. The main room is a little smaller than the last one. Giles, my buddy and I really liked the design that you suggested. However, eventhough we liked the idea of having three separate rooms, we're really more into the old school thing of having the band in the same room. To us, the vibe and interaction of the band is more important than having an absolute sonically perfect recording. Anyway, what do you guys think about the design overall.

Two problems I see - a single slider won't give much isolation for the iso booth at the top of the drawing; and it seems like a long walk for a vocalist to get from the iso through the live room through the double sliders and yet another door into the CR - other than that, looks pretty good... steve
I'd tend towards a bigger control room with all that space. If you can get the control room out to at least 16ft depth you'd have a better setup IMO. cheers john
