Hello, been reading this forum for some time now. This is first time I've posted though.
My question is about colunms in the middle of a room. The space I am looking at has 6 colunms in inconvenient places.
I've attached a sample CR placement. Two columns are behind the middle of the room. I am guessing these will affect listening because of reflections, but can something like this be treated so their effect can be ignored or reduced if the columns themselves can not be removed???
Any help is appreciated .

Obstructions in of CR or studio

I doubt that the reflections from the pillars would cause any problems big enough to worry about.
But since they are there, why not build an insulated enclosure around them. Plain old fiberglass insulation and covered in a nice fabric.
This will eliminate any problems altogether, because it will stifle any high frequency reflections, which are really your only concern.
