Hello again to everyone,
I just completed 4 each of gobo, bass trap, clouds and panel frames. I'm about to stuff them and need a bit more help. My ceiling is a peaked ceiling (cathedral) and for starters I built two 2'x4' 5 1/2" deep panels (fabriced open front and back) to float just below the top.
First, what I'm wondering is if a peaked ceiling (about 12" high) acts as badly as corners with bass frequencies?
...second - what would be the best way of treating this type of ceiling with what I have? I was thinking of stuffing the frame with my 8# 2" mineral wool towards the ceiling (for bass trapping) and a 3 1/2 fluffy fiberglass on the bottom for the mids/highs (broadband absorption) as we spoke about in my last post.
Does this sound okay of should I change my ingredients? :?:
Treating my Peaked (Catheral) Ceiling with what I have? Help

Yes, any corners cause buildup of low frequencies - trihedral ones are the worst, but even two walls coming together cause buildup - ceilings are no different.
Here's a discussion of vaulted ceiling treatment along the lines of what you're doing -

I think your dual material idea would be fine for a cloud hung over the center as you asked... Steve
