Ok. How many hundreds of thousands of dollars does it take to get John S. to help me with my studio.
I have a functional 2 1/2 room studio that I'm getting ready to decorate so that it doesn't look like a basement anymore. But, if there are minor changes that I can make in layout or acoustical treatment, etc. without having to drop 15 grand to reconstruct the space, I'd love to know what I could do.
So really, how much for on-site consultation?
Thanks,
Johnny
Ok, How much?

Depends on the size of the facility. I have been using him for my new place and the price is really good compair to many other studio designers and my place will be just as good if not better than any of the big designers. That's why I have gone with his services. I have looked at as many studio as I can that he's done and loved his work. I also find allot of other studios by designers that incorporate allot of his elements,
That's my problem. I'm not sure how much of the space I can afford to use without having someone come and look at it. I'm currently using what seems to be the most "logical" space for studio use. But there's other space in the basement that could possibly be converted. There's also space that could be expanded towards. I"ll attach an extremely rough pic so you can see what I'm talking about. Unfortunately I'm just not rolling in enough cash to be able to say, "build my dream studio in this space".
anyway,
Thanks
Johnny
I took very exacting measurments right down the the inch and ALL angles I could, I even took photos and made drawings for John. He had no problem working out my studio space from that. He was even able to work around the huge pipes and the pillar in my area and the studio is coming out beautifully.
Perhaps consider using John's phone consulation. $300 for 3 hours of discussion with the sessions spread over a period of time pretty much covered everything I needed help on from design to treatment. You'd be suprised what you can get covered in a one hour call.
I think I read someplace that the price is a bit more than $100/hr now due to exchange rates - but even so, it's really a good deal. John's a helpful guy :)
