Hi Guys, I've currently finished my garage and thanks to the support from this forum all is good. My studio is a part garage conversion with a section left for general storage. The studio is a room within a room so completely independent walls and ceiling. Its only attached to the garage via the concrete floor. I have enough material left over to do a stud wall so I can make the storage area a little more secure and can also add another door for extra security. Please see the diagram as this will make more sense. If I complete the stud wall will this ruin my the soundproofing of the existing studio. Bearing in mind I intend to attach the stud wall to the existing garage ceiling and brick wall as per diagram, so it will not be floating. Hope this makes sense? Many thanks

That would be fine. That's actually the best way to do it, as long as you keep it all sealed up nicely. On the other hand, if you might ever want to use that storage space as an isolation booth, then you could do it the same way the CR is done, as a complete separate leaf. You don't need to do that just for storage, but for an iso booth, that would be the way to go. - Stuart -
