Hi all,
I cant seem to find this as a search so I just wanted to check something. I have nearly finished my product (dicussed on here earlier in the year) and all is left is to Caulk the second layer of drywall.
Unforunaetly I have run out of caulk but do have some green glue left over which I think is just enough to finish my caulking. My question is can I use green gule to caulk? I appreciate its not caulk but as it remains flexible i thought it may be an option and will save me having to purchase more caulk.
Regards
Craig
GREEN GLUE FOR CAULKING

Simple, quick answer: Nope! :)
It isn't meant for that at all, and won't do the job very well. Its a visco-elastic polymer, not a sealant.
Green Glue also makes a proper acoustic caulk, which is a very different thing to their signature CLD compound.
But you CAN use ordinary bathroom / kitchen caulk: it does not have to be proper acoustic caulk. Any good-quality flexible, non-hardening caulk should do the trick. So a quick trip to your local hardware store will solve your problem with lack of caulk.
