Hi everybody.
I'm really excited and obsessed with redesigning my studio, I'm learning a lot, printing complete posts and reading like crazy.
After dealing with floor, and drum risers now I'm trying to figure out the shape of the ceilings in the control room and the live room. I have some space to raise the ceilings in order to avoid parallelism with the floor. I measured every wall and ended with four designs for the ceilings but I'd like to read your opinions and reccomendations to build the ceiling that is better for my space.
So here are the 4 designs:

Ceiling shapes. Wich one is better?

And 3, 4.
Well, as a former architect I asthetically like tall cielings, and skylights too. I would be tempted to go all the way to the roof deck and then hang accoustical baffles in the cieling space to control the sound. I think when you get into it your cieling joists might be structurally necessary (or you may have roof/ceiling trusses). or the crawl space may be needed for ductwork.
If the ceiling doen't have to be much high than 2.40m/8', I plan to put some hangers beetwen celing and roof in order tocontrol low frequecies.
Either design lets enoug space for some hangers. I'm interested in deciding wich is best suited for the next purposes:
1. Break paralelism with the floor
2. Even difussion of sound within the CR and LR (should the ceiling be absorptive or reflective?)
3. Estethics (the look)
I've seen so many ceiling shapes in the studios, some where low, the only possibility in studios builded in basements and others very high.
In my case what would you reccommend?
Thank you
Ed.
