I'm a newbie to this site and to room treatment so forgive me if this is too obvious..I'm trying to figure out how to treat my mix room. I recently moved my speakers away from the wall which (duh) helped a lot :) however I'm encountering some bass issues/standing waves. Could I get some recommendations on how to handle this overhang above the left side of my mix position? thanks a ton! please checkout photo

Hi. Please read the forum rules for posting (click here). You seem to be missing a couple of things! :)

my apologies for not including the necessary info! I have updated my profile to include my location (Los Angeles)..I'd like to further describe my room as well: it's 13' 10" by 13' 3" (so mostly square). The ceiling is quite low..only 7 feet as it is a raised basement. The main challenge seems to be the sloping ceiling above mix position left. Let me know if there is more info I should include. Thanks a ton for any suggestions or guidance!
Not much you can do to really improve this cramped environment. But there are some things to consider. The mixing position always wants symmetry...always. The slope, I am thinking that is the underside of a staircase, needs to be removed from your mix position since it completely unbalances the listening position. When I say removed, I recognize this is most likely not something that can be altered structurally so you should want to move your gear to eliminate this feature. This room being almost square and with a 7 foot ceiling is not helping much either. Low frequency trapping in all corners and broadband panels mounted at the sidewalls where your mix position is will help reduce destructive early reflections. The best you can hope for is at least a room that doesn't overwhelm your ears with low frequency and the loud noise that is a by product of small square rooms with low ceilings.my apologies for not including the necessary info!
