Maximum attachment file sizes?

I know the preference here is to post files (rather than link to them) in order to keep older posts from showing dead links. But what are the maximum file sizes for attaching various types of files (images, REW, sketchup files, etc)? Related question - any tips on best practices for getting file sizes smaller? I have a fairly detailed Sketchup model that's already 25MB. In this case, is it acceptable to just post an off-site link? Couldn't find this in the FAQ or stickies (maybe it's there, but I didn't see it), so thought I'd ask. Aj

For SketchUp, on the "Model Info" window select "Statistics", then hit "purge unused", and wait a few seconds... SketchUp keeps all your old geometry internally in the file when you delete things, and only dumps it when you "purge", so files can get big if you never purge them. In general, if you try to upload any file to the forum (skp, jpg, mdat or whatever) and you get a message saying it is too large, then it is OK to use a file sharing service such as Dropbox, and then just post the link in your thread.

Hmmm.... Good point! Next time I update the FAQ, I'll add that. Thanks for pointing that out. - Stuart -
Got it... thanks Stuart!
