I do voice over work for a living and I mix music as a hobby. I'm working out of an 11.5ft X 9.5ft bedroom studio with a corner closet. The walls are Gypsum board and the ceilings (8ft) are stippled. I'm planning to treat the room by building some of the Sayers walls units (slat resonators with angled slats for sidewalls, absorption for the front wall and then corner bass traps. My mix desk will be facing the large window (facing the top of your screen). 1. The back-wall is staggered because of the closet. What is the best way to treat it? Do I need 3 corner traps? 2. Should I build my monitors into my front corner traps or leave them sitting on the desk (decoupled with foam obviously). 3. I realize my room is very small, but would I benefit from RPG Skyline diffusers on the ceiling above the mix position? 4. What is the best position and direction in the room to voice? I'm under the impression that the Sayers wall units are angled for sound to travel in a certain direction -- does this mean I should have my back to my monitors for voicing? Any input would be greatly appreciated (any HELPFUL input that is). Thanks again! Please forgive my newbie Sketchup skills.
