Hello everyone, It's my first topic on the forum so i hope i meet the requirement to publish. i tried to be precise as i can. Also my english is not very good i hope you will understand it. I need to validate my home project studio. Before going further into the design of it , I wonder if the shape I envision is correct. The room is in a basement , ceiling, floor and walls are concrete. The available height is 2.50 meters . I have no problem for neighborhood noise so I do not intend to isolation but only one sound processing for balanced sound reference . The live room will be equipped later. I have not put on the structure at backing wall control room because I foresee a door. on each side of the door I expect two rear bass trap . I respected the angles of 30 ° angles or will the monitor speakers and 12 ° to the side walls . At this point here are the questions I ask myself : The final volume is correct? I then treat the soil with a floating park setting below a thin insulator? for ceilings I belittle pal but I have 14 panels Vicoustic brand, model is wavewood (see photos) , is that I can use the ceiling as reflector ? Thank you for your help and congratulations to the moderator for this forum has been a great help to me jusqye there. Musically yours. yann

Hi yann, and welcome to the forum! Sorry about the LOOONG delay in responding to your thread: it's been a crazy month for me, and there don't seem to be any other people responding right now...
I respected the angles of 30 ° angles or will the monitor speakers and 12 ° to the side walls
30° for the monitors is fine, but you might not need to angle your walls by 12°. The purpose of the 12° angle is to get rid of "flutter echo", but there are other ways of doing that, that don't wast so much space. And even so, you only need to do the front half of the room like that: not the rear half. So you can make your side walls at the rear parallel, without any problem, which gives you much more space at the back.
The final volume is correct?
The volume should be at least 1500 cubic feet (43 cubic meters) for a really good control room, but it can also be less than that and still be very good. It looks like you have concrete floor in your room, so you could just leave it like that if you want (concrete is a really good acoustic floor), or you could put laminate flooring on top, to make it look nicer. - Stuart -
thanks so much for your advices.
