I'm building a project studio for writing, tracking and mixing.
Studio is on the 2nd Floor. Floor is concrete slab, ceiling height is 3.5 meters (12 feet) with insulation between ceiling and rafters which are 4 meters high. It'll be a diamond shaped design, the 90-degree corner window leads to the outdoors. Please have a look at the pic (with exact dimensions) and let me know your thoughts... or if I should just scrap the diamond design and stick to a more traditional plan.
Noise will not be an issue as I have no nearby neighbors. This is a detached house.
Thanks for your input and time :)
Diamond Shaped Control Room (corner window at rear)

You can do that, yes. It's often refereed to as a "corner control room", since it is usually arranged diagonally across one corner of a larger space. A couple of things to keep in mind: 1) Door sweeps can be a problem, since you have doors opening onto other walls at strange angles 2) You can easily do a very effective RFZ design like this. 3) Soffit mounting your speaker is also easy to accomplish. 4) It's hard to fit in a sofa at the rear, since its a corner! 5) You need major bass trapping in that rear corner: it's the only one you've got! Please have a look at the pic (with exact dimensions) and let me know your thoughts... or if I should just scrap the diamond design and stick to a more traditional plan.
What about noise coming the OTHER way? Wind, hail, rain, thunder, aircraft overhead, roads nearby. railway lines, cars arriving/leaving, other noises in the building, etc....Noise will not be an issue as I have no nearby neighbors.
Jazz - turn the room around like this
