IF we are talking single-stud, then there's not a lot in it, since the studs themselves couple the two sides of the wall. For double-stud walls, there's a slight advantage to 24"OC compared to 16"OC, and not much in it on the side of 2x4 vs. 2x6. - Stuart -Can one expect better performance (TL) from a wall framed 2"x6" 24" OC Vs. 2"x4" 16" OC?
