Hi. I have a chance to start a home studio in a 10x5.4 m basement and I would like to hear some suggestions for distributing the space. My idea is to split it in a live/main room as large as possible, and a control room as small as acceptable.
The basement is located in a concrete building, surrounded by somewhat noisy businesses so neighbor annoyance is not an issue. (also I will be recording/rehearsing in the evenings and weekends, when these businesses are closed).
So to sum it up, what I am looking for is suggestions for distributing this space between a main room and a control room. Acoustic treatment is not the issue right now. At this stage I need to leave the rooms ready for future treatment (in the meantime I would mix my recordings at a friend's studio).
Attached is a plan of the basement. (dimensions in milimeters)
Thanks.
