Hi all!, Finally I'm constructing my own studio in the basement. I had problems with rainwater making my basement unusable for expensive equipment..but that's history after a lot off effort. Now i have a question about de gypsum. I'm using Isomax clips http://www.kineticsnoise.com/arch/isomax.html for space saving and ease of construction. On the construction details of that product,

i see that i have to put the gypsum on a thick isolation strip. So i ordered 10mm thick Agglomer http://www.noisecontrol.nl/en/agglomer.html and 50mm wide. Now my question is do i have to make a caulk with elastic sealant or is my idea

only with foam allowed? Otherwise i have to do it like this?

and do i need sealant between wooden floor and gypsum wall? Or is the isolator foam enough? under construction:

Hi again Jeroen! :)

Yes. Use any good-quality acoustic caulk, or even some types of high quality kitchen/bathroom caulk: the type that never hardens and always stays soft and "rubbery".
only with foam allowed?
Depends on the type of foam, but I would still caulk, even if there is foam.

Seal everything! Sealing your room is probably the most important part of isolation. If you don't seal well, then you won't get good isolation. So use lots of sealant, in every possible place where there could be any leak, even if it doesn't look like there is. - Stuart -
