First post, although I've been reading the conversations on here for years. Hopefully someone here can help.
I recently received a Studio window that was removed from Deaf Dog Studio in River North/Chicago area.
Thing is 10' long, weighs around 400+ pounds. Very well made. Angled glass.
The thing is it only has one piece of glass. Does anyone have any opinions on why? I generally thought these angled windows had two, although I could be wrong.
I didn't see the removal, so it's possible there was a second piece and it was destroyed or left behind.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as we're now left with the decision of installing it/buying a matching second piece to fit in the control room, or passing on the good karma to another studio. I listed it on craigslist for $100 just as a precaution. I don't feel too bad, took four guys including me 3 hours to get it on and off a truck!
Thank you!

Hi Brad, and welcome!
First, please read the forum rules for posting (click here). You seem to be missing a couple of things! :)
About your window: It sounds like you only got one half of the window: Studios are normally built with two-leaf walls between rooms, and each leaf is done to the same level, including windows and doors. It is the MSM resonance between the two leaves that provides the isolation, so it looks like you got only one leaf of that window. If you can't get the other one, then no problem: just use that as one leaf in your studio, and buy the glass to do the other leaf. Or you could see if it is possible to cut that glass, making two pieces 5 feet wide, and make your window like that. However, not all glass can be cut: laminate, for example, cannot be cut after it is made, so don't try to cut it yourself! Get a professional glazier to take a look at it, and tell you if he can cut it or not.
A photo or two might help to better understand what you have!
But if you listed that at US$ 100, I'm sure it will go really fast: That's a major bargain!

Thank you for your reply, and ill get right to my profile! Sorry i has read that and forgot to update.
I was afraid the other glass was missing, although I can understand why it was abandoned. The assembly was by far the heaviest thing I have ever tried to move, would be impossible with twice the glass.
I hate to let it go, definitely a custom piece. Solid steel frame, very nicely sound treated inside, the angled piece comes away from the wall about 8 inches, and has screws to remove the glass for cleaning. Must have cost a fortune.
I think i bit off more than i can chew though. Anyone in the Chicago area that would like it, please PM me. This thing is way too nice to scrap.
