Design planning continues and we are considering a way of increasing the isolation on the slab above but are concerned that we may in fact be creating an evil triple leaf scenario :twisted: . . .

Does that slab extend all the way across, or it's just that short cantilevered section you show? If it's just a small section, then I wouldn't worry about it. What you propose would be fine.
