Looking to do some isolation in my studio, and found this...
http://www.soundproofingcompany.com/sou ... -underlay/
Looking to put this down, and add two layers of plywood with green glue btw, as opposed to building a 2x4 frame w. rubber U-decouplers.
Certainly less work.
Anyone have experience with this product?
Or this site / company, in general??
thanks..

Anyone using "Serenity Mat" from Soundproofincompany?

That's two different solutions, for two entirely different problems. You might need one, or both, or more likely neither. What specific floor problem do you have in your room, and why do you think you need to isolate and/or float the floor? - Stuart -Looking to put this down, and add two layers of plywood with green glue btw, as opposed to building a 2x4 frame w. rubber U-decouplers.
I see.
well, i have a plywood floor that sits on top of a 1x6 (2x6?) layer of boards, which in turn sits on top of 15" deep joists (the ceiling below me).
i am attempting to float / isolate myself from the noise coming from below (there's a gym about to open, and i have a recording studio here, on the second floor)
initally i hoped to be able to do this from the underside (there's NO insulation there now, just the bare joists) but that's not an option anymore.. so i'm going to have to do it on my side (the top side)
so, the question is this, i suppose: is this serenity mat thing of any use?
OR should i go old school, and build a 2x4 frame with joist isolators, r=13 fiberglass btw, and then the double ply w. greenglue on top???

I replied to pretty much the same question in your other thread on this subject, over here:
