Hi Folks
I'm in the process of doing my own head in trying to make a room that is 2.5m l x 2.0m h 2.09mw , into a mixing area
I have a few questions and unique problems...
Not only is my room a poor size and ratio but the ceiling which has no insulation between the ceiling itself and the felt roof is made of Asbestos. Yay!! thanks the 60's
The idea is to section off half the garage as I need the other half for tools, hence the box room. I cant screw into the asbestos, but have a way of making the
stud wall without disturbing the asbestos. as well as creating a ceiling without attaching to the ceiling.
If you look at panoramic view, you can see there is a metal shelf unit at the back which is actually the center of the garage. That's where the stud wall will go to separate the room, the normal image I'm stood where the stud wall would be.
Questions
Can I Adapt Johns sketch up's examples of 2 small control rooms
which would work best for my dimensions?
are the dimensions I have to small to work with?
Thanks
Bruce

I have been looking at this model to see how I could squeeze this in. I could just make the super chunks and and the back bit between them to section off the garage. The only trouble is the distance that I measured from the back of the side diffusers is greater than the size of my space.
My question is.
Will this work with near-field monitors? can this one work for me as I will need to have everything a bit closer together...
I like the idea of not having to make a stud wall but just have modular sections that I can take with me if I move as the property is rented

Hi Folks.
I Have cleared the garage out even more today and arranged things in a manor closer to what I have learned so far.
The items in the photo are just placeholders, for Bass Trap/speaker sofits. I will be making a small ish computer desk for my keyboard, and screens.
I am interested to find out how far apart the near fields/bass traps should be and if I can sofit mount them.
I will have a go in sketch up and see if I can create something for you guys to get a better idea...
Cheers
Bruce
