After about a year or so of recording several family members, since most of us are musicians, I have decided to make my own studio. Unfortunately space is limited: The room is going on the top floor of my house. The walls, floor, and ceiling are going to be of concrete walls. I am going to install drywall and was thinking of splitting the room in half. One being the control room and one being the recording room. As for the budget, It will probably not be so expensive here in Mexico. If I just build the concrete room with no drywall, I think It wont go above 1000 dollars. So any input is welcome. This is an ongoing project and it probably won't start until the next 6 months. These are my plans, but I have no idea if I'm going on the right track or taking a step backwards. Can anyone help me? I'm new to the forum and if I missed something please point it out please.

Hey, Ok a few questions. You say this is upstairs and is concrete walls. Does that mean a concrete ceiling/roof and floors? Are your neighbors noisy and if so how noisy? Are you and the others noisy and if so how noisy? Could you update the picture (sketchup preferred) to show dimensions of the entire room, placement of existing windows and doors as well. And pictures of the "real" room wouldn't hurt :)
Hey, The whole room is made of concrete. The wall ceiling floor.......everything. the reason I didn't post a picture is because the room is barely going to get constructed. As far as noise goes, every once in a while the neighbor has a speaker with music outside. When he doesn't its pretty quiet. Also the neighbors around here don't say anything for having somethng too loud. To them there is no such thing. If anything I'm the loud neighbor.
" the reason I didn't post a picture is because the room is barely going to get constructed. " We need to see the room as it exists, windows, doors, plumbing, venting etc.
