Hello, I have purchased a new home and am coverting the master bedroom into a studio. I can afford to add 2 storm windows, a solid/sealed main door, and some acoustic treatment - but no dimension changes. I have attached a layout of the 11'10" X 19'4" room and would very much appreciate guidance on desk location and acoustic treatment products to get this room as flat as possible. A few other comments from the starter of this thread: 1. It's a ProTools mixing and editing rig. So, my limited tracking will be direct and remote, so the room is primarily a mix environment. 2. The Floor is a new, thick, short shag - seems very absorbant 3. The walls and celing are just normal sheetrock. The ceiling height is 8'6". I think the bathroom and laundry room will help help me create a sound barrier from the rest of the house. I will be sure to caulk and seal those rooms well. So, if I get a solid, sealed main door, I'm hoping that will be enough sound isolation for medium mix levels. My primary needs are to determine the best mix position and main problems areas that will require surface treatments. Also, If unanimous, I could change the floor from carpet to a solid surface. Thanks, Tim
Well 4 something semi-permanent check out Johns DIY boxes (click the main link from the forum and peruse the main site) For me, I'd face the Mix position towards the short wall window. Bryan Giles
