Greetings It's been some time since my last post on this forum. Well finally after many years living with my parents i'm moving to my own place, But there is a huge problem. The building was initially thought as a office building. And the main room (7 x 7 meters) has two of the walls practically made of glass, I can't change them nor alter them in any way. What would me my best option in this bad scenario. I just want the traffic noise to be reduced as much as it can (it's on the second floor, but there are no persons living downstairs). After doing some research I've come up with the solution of simply ignoring the windows and build a new wall inside the rooms but not a m-s-m wall but a wall that would act as one of the masses considering the glass itself would act as the other mass. Inside this air space would be insulation. I just wonder if this would be enough. I could beef up this new wall with as many Sheetrock layers as possible. Would this work? I know I just can put one layered walls here because if i put two layered the window would act as a third leaf and no one wants that. Thanks in advance
Please, im still at time to not sign the contract and find a better place
If you can make the new wall as heavy as you want and the gap can be large enough this is indeed a solution, for any case. If you describe the existing wall, the type of glass etc, we prolly could give a more dedicated approach to tackle this problem. :D
The existing wall is concrete and bricks with almost 60 % of it made of glass, the window is pretty old and doesn't seem to be laminated glass. I can make the new wall pretty heavy but I can't sacrifice THAT much of air space. It would make my control room a bit smaller. I'll upload a picture as soon as i can. Thanks Pictures uploaded

Here you can see how the windows are this is just a small part but the wall is like 7 meters long.
How thick is the glass?
