Hi, I've half built a home studio in my garage but need help for the inside layout of it. This floor plan is of how it is at the moment (I have attached the image incase it doesn't work on the post). I have a desk (63"x32"), a drum kit and an amp to fit in somewhere and it would be nice to have a control room and live room but not sure where to divide the room. Things I need help with are, whether I could have a control room on the right side of the window (77"x106") or whether it would be too small and if so if there is anywhere else I could have it. Also If there isn't anywhere to have one where I could put the desk and other equipment to get the best sound. Finally where should I put Acoustic Panels to improve the sound. Someone please help me, Will be really appreciated. Thanks Joe Connor

I suggest you don't divide the room up, instead go for a typical project studio design. Desk on the right wall (re: your floorplan) with speakers firing down the length. Treatment on all 1st reflection points and especially corners. You've not mentioned any consideration to sound isolation, so I've not addressed it, but you might need to think about that! Not only from sound getting out (complaints from neighbours - drums can be pretty loud) but also from sounds getting in ruining a recording session.
