:D Hi there everyone. My name is T.O Lee from Kocaeli/Turkey.
First of I've learned tons from the site, really. But learning in theory sometimes not enough for application.
I live in a rural area so not much noise around and disturbing neighbours by playing guitar or by singing is not a concern at all.
I record almost all types of music but mostly acoustic instruments and vocalists.
By the way I purchased the materials to acoustically tread the room. Mineral wool (10cm, 50kg/m3), studs, plywood, drywall, hangers, u-boats etc.
The floor is gonna float on auralex u-boats. Mineral wools between studs also not gonna touch to the base of the room. The finishing material will be laminate wood on plywood with acoustic sheet in between.
For the walls, after framing 10cm mineral wool will be used for absorption and finishing surface is drywall.
Bass traps from bottom to top at the corners and absorption panels for the early reflection points are gonna be ready in two weeks time i hope.
The height of the room is at least two light years away from being ideal  , 3m or higher would be splendid. But I don't have that luxury in my hands So have to make due with what I have which is 2.65m. Suspended ceiling is my go to solution with drywall finish. Of course lots of absorption panel gonna hang form the ceiling to create a nice taste of sound.
Equipment I have.
RME UFX
Two avalon vt-737s
m-audio axiom pro 61 controller
presonus monitor station
yamaha hs-80m
yamaha hs10w
fender american deluxe ash
musicman stingray 4h slo special
takamine tan16c
AKG c-414 xlii stereo set
Shure sm-57 stereo set and some other cheap mics
lots of percussive ints and amps for guitars are on the way.
So what I have basically is a small room with the following dimensions.
5.1m (L) 3m (W) and 2.65m (H)
Here is what I couldn't decide. Go with the one room or two rooms design.
I want to apply 1: 1.14: 1.39 room ratio in control room and the left space will be a room for vocals and guitar amps. Or should I go with one room because of the low ceiling. Actually as shown in sketch there is a space at the left side of the door which I planned to use as storage for my Pc, external hard drives and noisy other electronics. so mixing desk kind of should be placed to the left of the room at the long wall.
And at last but not least I could spend another $1000 or so to get the job done.
Anyways any ideas regarding room ratios or control room vocal room decisions would be much appreciated.
One last thing; sorry for my limited drawing abilities. I've seen some perfect sketches with floating floors, insulated walls, bass traps and tons of details but it kind of beats my talent. I hope my drawing gives an idea of my room.
regards
T.O Lee
