Hi guys, first time post here and got to say what a great helpful forum this is - very helpfull, exactly what I need :shot:
Cut a long story short, will be moving to the East side of the globeand to start afresh. My main plan that I'll be working on is teaching music to the disabled, and ophanges there so really looking forward to it :D
My side project Ill be working on and really excited for is to finally build my dream recording/mixing/production studio in which I'll be renting out (with accomodation also) whilst hiring engineers etc (and using with my band and local bands in the area, as well as my kids). The great thing here is theres no limits to space how big studio will be etc as Im building on my land in the country side. The not-so-great thing is I have no idea where to start, how many rooms booths are ideal etc, size of mixing room :blah: :blah: :blah:
Basically Im starting from scratch here guys and dont want to hire specialist architects etc and hoping you top bunch of great human beings will help an unknowledgable soul get there - of course, i will be updating on here like a blog of some kind to keep every one in the loop. Im incredibly excited about this venture of mine and cant wait to get started. Please help, Im looking forward to responces  :)
New project for studio in far east, your help is appreciated

Sounds very exiting and I for one will follow your story with interest, I'm sure within 24hours you'l get one of the 'experts' post back and get the ball rolling,
good luck mate :D
Thanks for the kind word Rogue, to be honest I was quite hesitant to post a thread here due to my inexperience (which Im sure to all you pros in this forum will see from my first post) but to be honest this is a dream I'd love to follow and have a great opportunity to do so, especially with the primary objective to help others rather than myself (which is the usual London lifestyle)
I guess you don't learn unless you start somewhere right? Thanks again :)
Hi there, "pumbationz", and welcome! :)
Sounds like an interesting project!
That's probably how a LOT of us arrived here! So don't sweat it at all: that's what this place is for... to help out folks who learned enough to be dangerous helping out others who are trying to get the same point. :) - Stuart -I was quite hesitant to post a thread here due to my inexperience
Hi Soundman, thanks v much for the sound welcome :)
Basically I was thinking about this kind of format below (provided by audiofiles previous posts <apologies for "plagarising"> in a sence there). A decent size studio with control room, a live room for a 6 piece-ish, 2 Iso/booths and possibly bar/lounge type area (wont be needing a bath/toilet)
Would appreciate any tips/comments/questions/advice greatly,
thanks
Hi guys, apologies - I edited my post above removing the picture because I think I kinda broke the rule on image size there, apologies if thats the case.
Anyway found a great example which Im going to start basing my studio on, with everything I need. Its going to be 20'x22' with peaked roof, a live room, control room and 2 ISO booths (please see link below)

Now I have a basis for the studio can anyone help me as to where do I go from here? Is the layout accousticly sound? Thoughts and advice appreciated :D
thanks
Yup! But now you broke a different rule! :) The one about keeping all images on the forum, instead of linking off-site. The reason for that is that, if you check several very old threads on the forum, from before when that rule was put in place, you'll find people talking about images that you can't see, since they places they were hosted are now dead or have moved! So those threads are basically useless, since you can't see what people are talking about. That's why we ask that all images be uploaded onto the forum. So just re-size your original image so that it fits the rules, then upload it here. - Stuart -I think I kinda broke the rule on image size there,
