Hey everyone. I am new here. I am very glad to have found this site. Well, basically, I want to convert my garage into living space and a studio. I own a house here, but, without going into a lot of detail, I could rent the house for much more than my mortgage, and I'm use to living on a tour bus anyway, so small space isn't a problem for me. More money for studio gear! So, it's basically a 19'x19' cube right now, but it does have vaulted ceilings, which come to a peak in the middle. With this in mind, I crudely drew a sketch of what this could look like. Bear in mind, a lot of details are missing. What I'm trying to figure out is the right "shape" for this place. Since I'll be living in it, it will all be one room. Therefore, I'm putting the console against a wall for space management. I would love to hear thoughts about this plan, things I haven't thought of yet, etc. It seems, though, with this configuration, I will have symmetry in the control room, and no parallel surfaces.

I could also use the closet as a booth. I wouldn't imagine the hanging clothes would do anything but absorb more, but, of course, I may be wrong. Also, I can put diffusers, and treatment on the back side of the bed when it is standing up. Keep in mind, music is my life, it's how I make my living, and always plan to. Therefore, the comforts of a typical home, I don't need. I never cook, I most always eat out. So, I don't need a kitchen. I will go inside the house to do laundry. Also, this is a crude drawing not to spec precisely, but approximate. I didn't want to spend the time if there was a huge flaw that I wasn't aware of. Certainly, for one, the start of the interior walls would be a little further from the exterior ones. However, I was wondering if this was necessary in the bathroom? Let me hear your thoughts, if you'd be so kindly! Thanks!
