Hello, I’m building a new studio in a 70 by 36 pole barn. I have some rough Ideas down but I’m running into a couple of problems. First off, I’ve got a budget of 10K to work with so I’m trying to keep this realistic. (I guess that’s my biggest problem!) There is already a concrete slab in half of the room (36 by 35) So I’ve decided that’s what I will work with for now. The bathroom is already in place! However there are support beams 9 feet from one edge that is really limiting my space. This is the edge of the bathroom, office, and closet in my drawing. The ceilings are at an arch 14’ and at the base 10’. So the way I see it, I only have a space that is 24 by 36 for my control and studio. I’m open to anything, however this is what I have come up with so far. One weird thing, I’ve got an old neve, the PSU’s are probably 20 rack spaces high and get very noisy. My power cable is only 13 feet. It would cost a fortune to get a new one made, so I would like to have a machine room within 10 feet of the right back corner of the console.
The thing I hate about my drawing here is that the entry way to the control room is in the front. I would much rather have an air lock on the side or the back, however I just don’t see any other way.
Thanks of reading this and if anyone out there has been in a similar situation, or has any suggestions I would love to hear about them.
Jeff

Jeff, any luck? Don't wanna keep that Neve waiting too long... Steve
Hi, Here's what were thinking of at the moment, It leaves me with an 18 by 14 control room, that's the only thing I'm not happy with, What do you think?
Thanks so much for your interest and help
Jeff
I didn't get anything off of the attachment. Just blank...
Here is an assist
If those are your AVERAGE dimensions, and your ceiling is 10 feet, I don't see any modal problems - in fact, any whole # of feet tall EXCEPT 12 or 14 feet works - so, the more height you can use the better, except that you don't have any space allocated for trapping at the rear - that's too small a room to work well with much diffusion, might wanna look at some of John's back wall designs with protruding traps in the center... Steve
thanks so much for the reply. So I was planning on making tha control room 10 ft, but the tracking room could go up to 14 in the center (triangle) do you think I should do this, or not? It the future I have another 36 by 32 feet I can add onto the tracking room, I'm just trying to keep my budget straight. It my tracking room was 36 by 30 would it make sence to have the 14 foot ceelings?
Thanks again for your help!
