speaker mounts question

I'm not sure if it's OK to post a new topic or whether I should just bump up my old topic, but this is a pretty specific question so I'm going to do the former. Hope it's acceptable. My room: - external 10x16 free standing structure (one room) - wood studs, 2x 5/8" sheetrock with greenglue sandwich construction - mostly a recording room with some rehearsal too... most rehearsal will be using v-drums and not live drums so volume will be lower. My question: My room is used for rehearsals as well as recording... it's a single room. I would like to save floor space by mounting my PA speakers. They are JBL EON's (crap, I know) with 10" woofers. I want to use brackets like these: http://www.amazon.com/Quik-SB-205-Speak ... pd_cp_MI_3 Will these impact the isolation of my room, by connecting the speakers with the studs? Will this mean low end will be better transmitted outside of my room due to the connection? Is this a stupid question? :) Thank you in advance for your expertise.
... maybe I'm asking a stupid question? Am I worried about nothing? It took a lot of effort for all the sheetrock and greenglue, so forgive me if I'm being paranoid...
I would not mount speakers to the wall like that, no. Number one, you do stand a very good chance that there will be transmission of sound through that bracket and into the wall. Number 2, it places the speaker in fixed location, so there's no chance of fine tuning the room by moving the speakers around a bit and testing for improvement. And number 3, it most likely places the speaker at the wrong distance from the wall. I would either soffit-mount the speakers, or put them on heavy, massive, decoupled stands. - Stuart - (PS. Yes, you should keep all of your questions related to your build in your own thread: It makes it easier to find them months or years down the line, when you just know that you asked something but can't find the answer in your own thread, and don't recall which section you asked it in...
Thank you Stuart, and will add to my old thread next time... Appreciate the opinion.
...just to close the loop, I had sent an email to the greenglue poeple as well, and they had the same thing to say... not worth the risk.
