I'm a bit of a newbie, but, I've been trying to digest as much info as possible to to avoid any dumb questions...but, I'm a bit stuck here & need some advice.
I currently rent & cannot place any acoustic treatment on the wall/ceiling & I essentially have one room available to me to use for mixing/monitoring purposes, along with recording vocals. The room is rather large: 14.63' (W) x 27.54' (L) x 11' (H). It's a living room with with ceiling to floor windows on 2/3's length of one of the 27.54' walls (which I'm assuming is less than ideal for creating an acoustically balanced environment due to the vibrations?).
I know in a rectangular room you're supposed to place your mixing table along one of the shorter walls & have your listening position roughly at 38% the length of the longer wall. However, due to it being a living room in which I cannot really rearrange w/o completely pissing off the gf, the only spot I really have to place my desk is along that longer, glass window wall to the right of my couch. (I attached a few photos of the room from different angles for visuals)
So, to get to the point, I'm trying to make the best of an unideal environment & I need a solution to not only fit my room & the placement of the mixing table, but, I also have to make sure the treatment is portable & can be stored away in the closet when not in use. I already have 3 portable Bass Traps on booms stands & 2 portable Acoustic Panels on boom stands. Along with 3 acoustic blankets with PVC stands to form a "U" shape behind a vocalist.
I can use some advice on:
A) Whether or not I should purchase additional acoustic treatment.
B) Where to place the portable panels for the best results while mixing/monitoring. (Is it possible to create somewhat of a boxed in area, for example - Place a couple Bass Traps behind my mixing desk between the wall & desk. Have an acoustic panel placed a few feet from the listening position on each side of where my chair will be. Then place an additional Bass Trap a few feet behind my chair. And lastly, I could use the PVC stands to drap an acoustic blanket over the listening position/chair to create a temporary acoustic cloud.
Or, is it better to just place the portable traps in corners & adjacent walls near reflection points & the rear wall? Also, in this scenario, is there any benefit to hanging the acoustic blanket above my chair, roughly 8 feet of the ground, to create a make shift acoustic cloud?....the reason I figured the boxed in idea might be better is because there are so many odd angles do to the architecture that I wouldn't be able to treat with portable panels & bass traps on boom mics, as you can see from the pics. So, my newbie mind speculated that dealing with the reflections by creating a smaller "boxed in" semi-booth set up, closer to the monitors might improve a crappy situation? I could be way off! Lol!)
Sorry if they're dumb questions or have been covered before...Thanks for your input!

Bump
You shouldn't go for more acoustic stuff I guess. Even if You do, the placement would be complicated and You won't be able to use it at the best. So wait for time being.
