Hi All,
My planned studio in the corner of my garage will wind up being about 9x10x8 (not very big, I know) and I've been looking at ventilation solutions. One thing I was wondering was if it's possible to build baffling between studs (in a double stud wall) or betwen joists (10", I think...I haven't removed the drywall yet) in the ceiling (whisper clips and hat channel). This would definately save me space if this is possible.
Another thing I was looking at is if I made my baffles verticle, for the intake is it better for the inside to be at the bottom and the outside at top, or vice versa?
Would a bathroom fan be adequate for exhaust?
How much would the outside temperature affect the inside with a passive intake vent?
Also, humidity tends to be relatively high (60%-80%), though this may change once my fourth wall is up. Any thoughts on reducing this to the 50's? I know I may have to run a dehumidifier, but if I need an air conditioner to control the heat...that may be overkill and have a negative impact as well.
Speaking of air conditioners, has anyone ever had some sort of exhaust setup for a portable? I know they produce water that needs to be carried away, but that would have to go through one of the two walls that border with the outdoors.
I know these are alot of questions, but once I tear down the sheetrock, I want to be able to put it back up as quickly as possible, and I'll probably need a venting solution before that so I can wire whatever electrical I need. I live in a 1970's neighborhood where the houses aren't that close together, but I would like to be able to record without catching my neighbor's fart can on my tracks. Thanks!
Dan
