Allright, here we go... going to show off my little 10x16 recording room in northern california USA. It's small but here in California land is at a premium, and the yard is not that big so any larger and it would overwhelm the yard. It will be big enough for my little projects.
The basic structure is from a company called studioshed... http://www.studio-shed.com/ They were pretty good to work with. I could have installed it myself, but that would have been a disaster. They put in the foundation about a month ago, and I've been waiting for them to finish up the walls.
It came on a truck and was delivered today.
The walls went up quickly since it was built and then disassembled for transport.
By the end of the day they had the walls in. Tomorrow comes the rafters/roof etc.
Tomorrow comes the upper windows, rafters, etc.

Well, we like to get our fingernails dirty around here.
I appreciate that you found a fit for your lifestyle...bravo!!
Oh, I'll get my hands dirty.. I'll be doing all the painting and finishing work!
Painting and finish work....:)
Form the concrete, lay the mesh and place the concrete and install the anchor bolts and finish it...that's getting your hands dirty.
Finish work and painting are the best days of my life since I wear gloves so no paint gets on me and trim...its all dust man!!!
But this work isn't for everyone, so again, I am glad you found a fit for your life and look forward to how it works out for ya.
Huh... Well I'm a musician not a builder.. :). Frankly painting, finishing, and acoustic treatment are plenty for me, thanks!
If the way I'm doing this is not of interest though that's fair enough...
I'll post pictures in a bit, but now the sheetrock is all up. Double 5/8" layers with green glue. I can already tell the windows and door are the limitations of the room... which is exactly what I'd hoped. I am not sure I'm going to take on reinforcing the windows yet, I want to see what it feels like.
I also did NOT do ventilation or HVAC yet. I want to see how badly I will need it... I know it's probably inevitable. I did install two opening windows (and the door opens) so maybe it won't be that bad. I'll know soon enough. :)
I will do a mini split system I think once I must.
