I'm a bit stuck on the first floor above the studio i'm building.
The studio is on the ground floor of my new house/cheese shop/studio/conference room which is build on a wooden skeleton with a concrete foundation. The studio is build box in box either by using straw bales.

Or by a decoupled wood structure with a double layer of fermacell and the the gap is filled with pushed-in straw.
Now we have to come up with a solution to tame the footsteps from the first floor. We have to build on the construction floor. It is now 18 wood paneling on joists.
Do you have some tips to tackle this. Preferably with natural materials as you may have noticed :D
Maybe you can link some good threads about this.
The finishing layer will be 22mm massive wood.
Here are some snapshots to give you an idea http://www.degroenegriffioen.nl/De_Groe ... is.html#27
Wood flooring above a studio

If you are building this on a concrete floor, then install the flooring direct to the concrete...if your concern is overhead foot fall, then either a rub on the floor, heavier mass on the over head...there are many ways, natural not being one of them since this will present a fire hazard.
Mass i can deliver in a natural way. In the form of clay.
This stuff we use also for the walls. Do i have to consider some type of soft layer underneath or on top of the mass? (under the wood floor) note: compressed straw does not burn. It is tested as building material, covered with clay it is better than drywall and rockwool.
