Hi all Great forum. I have this spare area above my garage. (see attachment) Built in 04 and originally planned to be a music/studio-space, but it never happened. But now I´m back and have started to be interested in this loft again. I work in a great studio, so I have the place for bigger recordings. At moment I wish my loft could hold a really good mixing room, and a decent live room. I´ve recently started to record my own music, so a live room for overdubs would be nice, but for bigger multi-musician-sessions I´m better off at work. If the live room could support great vocal recording - perfect! Hold a grand piano - optimal! Make decent drum recording - well there is no word... I also recently started to receive some mix-jobs, so a better mix room than the present small one below this loft would be nice. Now there is a wooden floor straight on beams. Beneath beams there is a iron beam (girder?) crossing - one for each side of the stair. Floor and stair is all there is now. Elsewhere there is open construction on the inside. I don´t mind if the interior covers some of the windows. The place is in a really quiet area, and I think I would have to record a really loud bass amp really late to maybe annoy a neighbor. Budget - well... infinite over time. Not really, but I´m in no hurry. I´m thinking of finishing a room at a time. A swedish beer for every suggestion! Don´t get drunk... /Peter

Attached is my own thoughts. Making use of the staircase as a live room. Will be quiet a lot of air volume if I leave the ceiling open to top. Doors are with windows. Regarding ceiling I´m thinking that in control room, diffusion on beam-level and absorption in the triangle above, and in live rooms open to top with visible beams. /Peter
