Hi, I'm trying to come up with a layout for a tracking and mix space. So far it's in the planning stage, but would like to get to the construction stage soon (within reason). I'd like to be able to mix, track instruments (drums, guitar, bass, etc), and also be able to track a rhythm section live with enough separation if needed.
The space I have is on the second floor of a building, I believe it used to be parts/engine storage for a motorcycle shop. There are 3 doors in the space, it has unfinished wood floors, and several windows. The ceiling is unfinished and you can see the rafters. Several of the walls are concrete and the rest are plywood. There is a small room adjacent to this space that has a restroom, and exits to the first floor. I've attached a few photos of the space and a sketchup drawing showing locations of doors, windows, and dimensions of the space. The odd thing about the space is a raised area on one end of the room, around 1.5', almost like a little stage. I thought maybe that would be a good spot for iso booths because of the shorter ceiling?
Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
