i am building a new house and i turned the water cistern into a studio it is a regular rectangle shaped room the sizes are 12' * 17' with an 8' ceiling i am really desperate for this need it asap no mean to rush but i am trying to get funds in place please help me
Any idea how much isolation you need from the rest of the house and neighbors? Planning on live drums, working at 2 AM while wife sleeps, etc? This isn't something you rush into, unless you just like failure... Steve
In an old cistern? How long have you been living there? Have you been watching the space for water problems? The cisterns were almost always the low point of the old houses that had them. If you're not up on a hill or anything, you might get water in there when it rains. Just keep an eye on it after a large storm, and make sure that your investment won't be submerged. Hrm... in reviewing your post- you're building new, but you have an existing cistern? I think we need a little more clarification... Let us know what it is you'll be recording and we'll be of more help to you. Kase www.minemusic.net
hi again thanks for the reply . the cistern is newly built and i do have it properly sealed so that water doesnot get inside there is a 4' spiral step to get inside offset to one side . about the isolation yes i do want it pretty much sound proof and im thinking of using the roland drums one of the v series not to sure which one. i will be recording mostly balads, caribbean music, r&b, mostly sequenced music. i hope this is enough info .
