Hi guy's, My name is Cam and I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I have been checking out this site for a year, and finally I am building my own studio. I have a garage that is 28'L x 22'W x 10'H. It is 2'' x 4'' construction with a 4 12 pitched roof. I plan on doing a double wall system(mam), a room with in a room. My first question is about a vapour barrier. Since I live in a climate that can be hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. Code is that I place a vapour barrier on top of the insulation facing into the next walls insulation. Will this hurt the mam system? Thanks Cam
Hi Cam, and welcome! No, that isn't a problem for MSM. It's a limp barrier (floppy, not rigid), and the mass is very low anyway, so it won't have much effect on the MSM system at all. Besides, if that's what code says you have to do, then that's what you have to do! :) - Stuart -
Thanks Stuart for the quick reply! Cam
