Hi "cars111".
my room is bedroom 2
Best place for monitors: At the far end of the room, facing towards the door.
should the bass traps be from floor to ceiling height or half of that?
Floor to ceiling, placed diagonally across the corners, at least 24" wide.
what other acoustic treatments will benifit
Depends on what you are trying to accomplish! But assuming this is a CR, at the very least you will need treatment on the first reflection points, a cloud on the ceiling, and absorption on the rear wall (where the door is). - Stuart -
hi thx for the reply , the first reflection points where would that be in the room will it need absorbers diffusers? and also where would be the best place to setup the cloud and what would be the measurements for the reflection points and the cloud, and alo you said absorbtion on the rear wall near the door what size would that be a lot of questions i know thx a million
the first reflection points where would that be in the room
At the points on the walls and ceiling where the waves from your speakers FIRST REFLECT and bounce back towards your listening position. Search the forum to find out how to locate those points.
will it need absorbers diffusers?
Absorption only. That room is way too small for typical diffusers to be of any use, and your modal issues will be at frequencies that are way to low to be treatable with diffusion.
where would be the best place to setup the cloud
Above your desk and listening position.
what would be the measurements for the reflection points and the cloud
As big as you need! :) That depends on numerous factors, mainly based on the dimensions and intended use of the room, and the speaker/listening position geometry, and the design basis for the room.
you said absorbtion on the rear wall near the door what size would that be
As big as possible! But that also depends on the room dimensions, purpose of the room, etc. Please check the forum posting rules: that explains the type of information that you need to provide in order to get good help here. - Stuart -
thx got a lot of reading to do!!!
