We don't know what you mean by "minimum ideal." Several recommendations/standards are summarized in AES TD1001 http://www.aes.org/technical/documents/AESTD1001.pdf It also details several acoustic characteristics of the room. It starts with a reference volume of 100 m^3, and provides criteria for room dimensional ratios. If you take the initial reflection delay of 15 ms and the defined listening area of a 1 m circle, you get around 10 feet as the minimum distance from the center listening spot to any surfaces that would provide such early reflections. That is assuming that you do not want to us absorptive material to control those early reflections. Ray tracing analysis would reduce that distance somewhat. Other than that, please read the document and try and a bit more specific questions so that we have some direction in how to answer your question, and hopefully new questions from reading AES TD1001.
