I know we all spend a lot of time working on the isolation and acoustics in the design of our studios on this forum, but I want to pose a different question.
What design features have you incorporated or seen done that are good ways of improving storage capacity? I find an organized studio is always easier to work in, and sometimes even makes it easier to be creative. Where do you put the mic stands? Your mic collection? Amps, cables, random junk? Some studios I know use specifically designed storage closets, but what about those single control rooms?
Just wanted to start an interesting discussion. Please post any pictures, links, or sketches you might come up with.
Studio Storage Ideas

I had most of my cables, stands and non-essentials outside in the shed. Matter of fact they are still there. :)
I'll throw an idea out there. I saw this in a thread about maximizing storage in apartments.

Something like this could hold cables or a mic collection. Although mic stands might be a little harder to fit.
Anybody else have ideas?
I have an Expedit bookcase that I purchased from Ikea, I also purchased doors for each cube. It has multiple purposes. Its storage for all my extra cables and random things like manuals, microphones, etc. On top of it I have my Minimoog Voyager. For my specific workspace it works well because it acts as a room divider.
Here is a picture of the expedit from Ikea's site, I'll post some pictures of my studio in a little bit.
