Hi everybody,
In order to install some low-frequency absorption in my home studio (absorption panels or superchunks), I was looking for a similar product as Owens-Corning 705-FRK here in Germany. I talked to a consultant from Isover and he advised me to use Isover Akustic EP1 which has 70-80 kg/m^3.
It is available as panels in thicknesses up to 4cm. To my knowledge OC 705-FRK has about 90 kg/m^3, therefore, I guess, the Isover stuff should perform almost as well at low frequencies as 705-FRK.
Does anybody have experiences with this product? Unfortunately there are no specs available on the Isover website.

Isover Akustic EP1 as an alternative to OC 705

you're really looking for something in the 48kg/m3 range and consider using 100mm (or 50mm) as a "face" and lighter insulation behind to fill in the corner - 15kg/m3.
My main concern are the low frequencies. I thought the more dense the fiberglass, the more absorption it supplies at low frequencies. Therefore, heavy material should be preferable for my purpose, shouldn't it?

at a certain point, the dense material depth impacts the flow which is less desirable.
