Hey guys this is my first studio build, and i am totally looking forward to working alongside your knowledge!!
k....here is the deal....I have a rectangular space 30'x12' (not ideal, i know) and i would like to try and squeeze a vox booth, live room, and control room....the space is a sublease from the main tenant who is allowing me to start up a studio in their multi-purpose arts oriented venue. My space is carpeted as of right now, but i will rip that up to reveal the concrete slab it is on....I saw that some people use the concrete as the finished flooring, but i would prefer wood flooring.....there is currently HVAC running into the space, and my plan was to route them via 90 degree angles towards the necessary areas...their are neighbors above me who have wooden floors and is quite noisy....i thought of spraying the ceiling with acoustic treatment...the ceilings are roughly 15'-20', but since the HVAC hangs kinda low I was going to go with 9' 6" ceilings....the idea is to build a room within a room....I'm allocating $25,000-$30,000 for this....hopefully the price can include some equipment as well...i am located downtown san diego, ca...where i will experience police/fire sirens and such....hope i have answered enough to get the ball rolling...yay!! i did try to attatch my .skp file, but it said it was to big....even after purging...i will keep trying though...THANK YOU GUYS!!! John this site truly is also a work of art!!

welcome! you might want to read up a bit more - the recording manual is an excellent start to help understanding the important concepts such as isolation and room treatment. in general, good isolation requires having your walls decoupled from the outside - usually a room within a room - and simply spraying insulation will not provide a complete solution however, that depends on the details of your requirements. the read me before posting sticky has a lot of questions you can answer which will help us to help you.
