HI , im building a room within a room scenario. Im up to the inner room. just wondering if its worth the $$ with wave bar or barrierboard or greenglue on the inner room under the plaster or should i just put more plaster/mass of some sort on ive been using fyrcheck 16mm for the outer room the internal room is 4.8 by 3 meters and if i can i will seperate this area with another wall on an angle maybe , with a glass double glased sliding door and have a "louder" room im in Geelong Victoria Australia i wish to be able to record drums, and loud guitars and vocals and acoustic instuments and neighbours are about 15 meters away cheers Andrew
welcome! it would help if you could read the "read me before posting" sticky to address a whole set of questions esp since its sounds like you need isolation and want to maximize that. in general, using additional layers of mass will be a better option but you should consider the decoupling options - like isolation clips and hat channel to support it (walls and ceiling) or using separate isolation walls decoupled from the exterior or other walls.
