What is the best cost-effective material for wall treatments? I plan on using an insulation type material with a cloth covering. I haven't decided if I will go with an expensive gilford type cloth or not.
Hi thedug - welcome to the forum. The best insulating material for wall treatment is a semi-rigid fibreglass. There are various companies that manufacture it which can be found at these links. http://www.knauffiberglass.com/index.cf ... tail&ID=12 http://www.owenscorning.com/around/soun ... uboard.asp http://www.rockwool.ltd.uk/web/index.cfm For the cloth cover just make sure it is not a tight weave. Burlap or equivalent is a good start. BYW I've attached a picture that compares the auralex foam with other rigid fibreglass products. Compare the absorption coefficients of each product. The higher the number the greater the absorption. Cheers JOhn
