Hello,
I am looking for a way to move a piano in/out of a smaller room in the studio, also an isolation room (dimensions about 16x11'). I initially thought of using 2 3' wide doors, French style. Am I fooling myself, or is there a better way? i.e., sliding doors? Any insight is appreciated.
Double Doors?

How about double sliders? THe problem would be the bottom rail and seals though.
You wouldn't want to lift a piano up even if it is only 1/2 an inch.
Anything is possible with the right size budget :)
Sliders save space too.

We used wide opening double doors at Recording Oasis to allow the piano to be wheeled into the drum room

At Shanghai Twang we used folding doors

even with the bottom seal or rails, you just use a couple of small ramps to wheel the heavy stuff over them. depending on your paranoia, using some thin masonite (moving) panels or carpet/vinyl runners can help spare your floor when moving big gear, nothing worse than a wheel with some grit and malfunctioning to drag and scratch your nice finishes...
They need to paint there doors at Freo John. That under coat green doesn't suit :)
yeah - it's pretty wild isn't it :)
