Hi, I´m planning to start building a homestudio in the 2nd floor of our new house here in Finland. I need it to be a place where I could do mixing and to record acoustic instruments. Here are the "rough" mesurements of the room. Could it be done, or am I aiming too high!=) Leftside room/space W:1,40m,L:3,20m,H:2,05m Rightside room/space W:1,30m,L:3,90m,H:2,10m The center/big room W:4,20m,L:4,30m,H:2,50m (could go higher when I remove the polystyrene false roof. I´m a total beginner in this thing and would need a lot of help from you guys!=) My first plan is to move the left side wall more to the right and build a vocal/drum booth on the left. Then I could keep the right side extra space for storage. I really liked what John did in here

, but I can´t use it directly in my room. Could someone help me?? Anton
welcome! please update your profile with your location and also please take the time to read the "READ THIS BEFORE POSTING" topic which will guide you in providing all the necessary details.
Hups! :o It seems I did all the "how to not post a topic" mistakes. Sorry. I updated my location, and downloaded SketchUp. I´ll now try to make a ground plan with it. Thank You! Anton
Here are the room details with sketchup. The green one is the window!=) How could I divide this space into a controlroom and a small live-room/vocal-boot? I would like to keep the small space on the right side as it is. Anton

something like this? make the CR ceiling 3.3m and the live room ceiling 4m or higher.

Wow, that starts to look great!=) Would there be any chance to squeze the live-room in a little bit, so that there could be a small hang-around/storage-space on the right side? It could be without a door. I thought about making the live-room floating and compleately isolated so that I could work altough my family is home. What about the window in the control-room side. Is it a problem soundvice? The room height btw, is not a problem. I can raise it. Anton
